K-Tip Hair Extension FAQ's (South Bend, Indiana)
I get a lot of the same questions about K-tip hair extensions in South Bend - so i figured I'd just answer everything here.
β
If you're thinking about getting extensions but aren't totally sure yet, this should help you feel a lot more confident about it.
β
β
πWhat are k-tip extensions?
β
K-tip (keratin bond) extensions are tiny strands that are individually attached to your natural hair.
Which basically means they move, blend, and feel like your real hair - not bulky, not obvious, not "extension-y."
β³how long do k-tip extensions last?
β
Most of my clients wear them for about 3-4 months before needing a reinstall.
β
It really depends on how fast your hair grows and how well you take care of them - but they're definitely the longest-lasting method I offer.
β
π°how much do k-tip extensions cost?
ββ
k-tip installs start at $1,500.
β
That includes custom color matching, the full install, and blending everything so it looks seamless.
β
I go over exact pricing during your consultation based on how much hair you'll need.
πwill they look natural?
ββ
Yes - that's literally the whole point.
β
K-tips are my go to because they blend the best out of all extension methods. When they're done right, no one should be able to tell you have extensions.
π«do k-tips extensions damage your hair?
β
Not when they're done correctly.
β
I'm really intentional about placement, weight, and making sure your natural hair can support the extensions.
β
As long as you follow the aftercare I give you, your hair stays healthy.
π§΄how do i take care of them?
β
iI'll walk you through everything, but the basics are:
β
βUse professional products (I'll recommend exactly what to use)
βBrush them daily
βsleep with your hair in a loose braid or pony
βavoid heavy oils near the bonds
β
It's honeslty not complicated, once you get used to it it's super low maintenance
π€How do i know if i'm a good candidate?
β
That's exactly what consultations are for.
β
I'll look at your hair, your goals, and make sure K-tips are actually the right fit for you before you commit to anything.
βπWhat's the maintenance like?
β
K-tips don't require move-ups like tape-ins.
β
You wear them for a few months, then they get removed and reinstalled with the same hair or new if you prefer.
β
So it's lower maintenance in-between appointments, but a bigger reset when you're ready for your next install.
βπWhat's the difference between k-tips and tape-ins?
β
K-Tips:
β
·Last longer (3-4 months)
·More natural movement
·No bulky wefts
·No sticky residue
β
β
Tape-Ins:
β
·Lower upfront cost
·Quicker appointment time
·Need to be moved up every 8 weeks
β
Most of my clients who want the most natural, long term result go with K-tips.
β
